In this lesson we’re going to learn “Starlight,” a single by British alt rock band, “Muse” off their album Black Holes & Revelations, and written by lead singer Matthew Bellamy. “Starlight” is a moderately paced rock song with a steady eigth note bassline through most of tune, as well as a catchy hook that bookends the form while also appearing at several points throughout.
The harmony often anticipates the barline, driving the song forward. In this lesson we’ll be combining the bassline, melodic hook, and some guitar parts to create a complete piano accompaniment part for “Starlight.”
